Alooooha!

I freakin love Hawaii. We had lots of fun and got lots of sun. We did lots of stuff including boogie boarding, shopping, going to the PCC, eating at the Hukilau Cafe, Paddle Boarding, Swimming with dolphins, laying in the sun, meeting John Locke (from lost), Swimming with turtles, jumping off the rock at Waimea bay, eating matsumotos shaved ice, walking around the temple, trying (and failing) to catch sand crabs and spending time with my amazing family.

The trip was so fun. We stayed in a house about a block away from the beach and on the same street at the hukilau cafe, so in the mornings we would usually go eat at the cafe and then go straight to the beach. One of the nights we went to the PCC (Polynesian cultural center) and we were able to go to most of the villages. I loved learning about the different islands and their traditions.

One day while we were there we all went to Waimea bay and while we were there we saw hundreds of dolphins swimming pretty close to the shore so we swam out and saw them. It was amazing, they were so close to us. After I had swam in from seeing them one of the life guards came on the speaker explaining how dolphins are federally protected and that "large ocean predators follow this group of dolphins" I was SO glad that I was already on the beach when he said that so I didn't have a panic attack in the middle of the ocean.

We also met John Locke from lost at waimea bay. He was a pretty cool guy, although I'm not a huge fan of lost it still was exciting.

On our last day we rented paddle boards and went to try them out. Everyone that tried it was really good at it right off the bat except for me. I struggled for the first ten minutes to get my balance and I kept falling in the water but once I got the hang of it I was pretty good. It was lots of fun and so relaxing just to be in the calm ocean on a board. Sometimes I wish I lived there so I could do things like that everyday and live an extremely laid back life!
